I started working with damaged and reclaimed wood as a way to slow down and quiet the noise. My job requires me to work with my mind and to be even more hypothetical, theoretical, and strategic than most of my colleagues. Working with my hands allows me to have purpose without such a high draw on my brain. And the damaged and reclaimed wood is no accident. These pieces aren't perfect. Neither am I. That's kind of the point. I give the wood a second life; it gives me a second wind.
I do sell a few things here and there - mostly to friends or on MarketPlace. But starting now, everything I make from Wood Two helps fund The Long Climb.
So for the for next two years or so this isn't a side hustle. It's the work that heals and renews.
While I do have a few things I have made that are waiting to be adopted, I usually make things when I find out someone wants it. If you would like something from Wood Two, reach out! If you live far away from me though, remember that wood is heavy.
