The Long Climb
A journey to the summit of Mt. Aconcagua - and everything it takes to get there

About the Climb
I'm not a mountain climber. Let's get that out of the way.
But I am climbing Mt. Aconcagua - the tallest mountain in South America at nearly 23,000 feet - at the tail end of 2027. I'll be turning 50 . That gives me time to prepare ... but not too much time.
This site is part diary, part documentary, part accountability tool. It's where I'll share the training, the struggles, the finances, the failures, and the firm (but slightly unhinged) belief that everyone can set and achieve enormous goals.
The Seven Summits are the tallest mountains on each of the continents. I climbed my first (Kilimanjaro) several years ago so I can tell you: a climb like this isn't just about leg strength. It's about dogged determination. To prepare. To persist. To endure. And eventually - to conquer.
The mountain inside of me is even taller. But I'm climbing that one too.
Training Journal
This is where I'll drop the real stuff - videos, reflections, check-ins, backslides, breakthroughs.
I'm not curating a highlight reel. I'm documenting my climb, with all the messy middle included.
"How you do the little things is how you do the big things."
Let's see how many little things I can do well between now and summit day.
Wood Two
Between these long climbs and longer days, I build things out of damaged and reclaimed wood.
I call it Wood Two - a second life for forgotten and discarded things. I'm an amateur, but it's therapy. It's meaning. And (for this next stretch), every piece I sell goes towards funding this big climb.
Sometimes I post build videos. Sometimes, I just sand quietly. Either way, this part of the journey matters
Join the Climb
This isn't a brand. It's a big goal.
If you want to follow along, awesome. If you want to cheer from the digital trailhead, I'm grateful. If you want to help me get there - through a share, a purchase, or a kind word - thank you.
